13 Oct Andre Ayew dropped for Zimbabwe clash
Captain Andre Ayew has been named on the bench for Ghana’s clash against Zimbabwe in Harare.
Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac did not include the 30-year-old in his starting line-up for the must win World Cup qualifier on Tuesday afternoon.
Ayew, who scored in the first meeting which ended 3-1 on Saturday, is reportedly struggling with a groin injury.
Rajevac could introduce Ayew when necessary during the game.
Meanwhile, his brother Jordan Ayew starts upfront along with Turkey-based striker Benjamin Tetteh who has been handed his first start after an impressive cameo in Cape Coast.
Teenager Fatawu Issahaku has also dropped to the bench.
Black Stars are aiming to complete double over Warriors and stay in contention to finish first in Group G.
The match will kick off at 1 pm.
